New Volunteer Rebate Policy

*NEW* Volunteer Rebate Policy for Coaches and Team Managers:

Effective 2026 Parkland has implemented a new rebate policy for our volunteer Coaches and Team Managers.

A larger rebate, compared to previous years, will be given at the end of the season when volunteer commitments are complete.

New policy and procedure will be implemented as such:

  • Each team will have a lump sum rebate allocated to it, a calculated percentage of each program’s respective fee structure.
  • Once head coaches have been finalized, they will be given a google form to fill out at the beginning of the season that lists and confirms all volunteers; assistant coaches, team managers, or designated score keepers (optional).
  • Each team-based category is limited to 3 personnel maximum on the bench, as per league rules.
  • At the end of the season Parkland Basketball will ask the head coach to confirm that the original volunteers listed have completed and contributed to helping for the full season. If any volunteer changes were made mid season the Head Coach is responsible for advising us, as a new criminal vulnerability check will be required and volunteer list updated.

We will no longer be advancing a rebate upon registration.

Reasons for the change:

  • Not all volunteers that offered to coach as either a head coach or assistant were assigned to a team but still received a promo code that admin had to track down and request full payment be sent back.
  • Coaches, both head and assistant have withdrawn due to unforeseen circumstances before the season's conclusion or were unable to attend the majority of practices or games.
  • Administratively this format proved difficult to confirm and track all moving parts, and become quite timely, often resulting in unpaid fees.

Jr. NBA Allocation format:

  • Program Lead Coach = 60-70% of allocated sum
  • Assistant Coaches = 30-40% of allocated sum

Allocation dependant on program enrollment numbers

Team Programs (7U, 9U, 11U, 13U, 15U, AND 18U) are allocated a lump sum and will be divided at the Head Coaches discretion:

  • Allocation combinations can not exceed a percentage total of 100%
    • Example; Head 70% + Assistant 30% = 100%
    • Example; Head 60% + Assistant 25% + Manager 15% = 100%
    • Example; Head 40% + Assistant 30% + Manager 30% = 100%
  • Head coach is limited to maximum of 70% and *must use chart choices below*
  • Teams must have at Minimal 1 Head Coach and a Second parent volunteer on the bench, or at practices. The rule of 2 must be followed at all times.

Note: Table rounded to nearest dollar value.

The rebate values in this new model are higher than the previous rebates of 35% for Head Coach and 20% for Assistants that were applied against full player registration fees.

Example:

Old Policy = 35% x $480 (11U-15U) = $168.00 / (Jr. NBA Lead) = 35% x $280 = $98.00

New Policy = 70% x $300 (11U-15U) = $210 / (Jr. NBA Lead) = 70% x $280 = $196.00

We value our volunteers, and with this new policy we will be able to offer more of a rebate, as we lose less money and administration time chasing unpaid fees back to those who do not end up coaching or backing out of their commitment.
